Drayage
Axis Warehouse will devise a creative transportation solution to keep your supply chain moving. Cover the distance with drayage by relying on more than one mode of transportation to ship a container. Rather than depending on a single, long-haul shipment, drayage relies on a combination of multiple shipments and different modes.
Between fluctuating gas prices and delays related to roadwork, sole reliance on trucking can add to unpredictability. Intermodal drayage uses a mixture of rail, truck, and sea to move goods from one freight system to the next by minimizing unforeseen circumstances.
The First Mile
Drayage is an integral part of the transportation industry, as it keeps cargo moving without interruptions. Our drayage services hold the supply chain together. Often, intermodal drayage is the first step within a container’s transportation journey.
We can quickly and efficiently transport your cargo and move it onto the next phase of its transportation. Our flexible solutions efficiently move goods over a short distance by trucking containerized cargo from a rail yard to its ultimate location. Tri-axle chassis options are available to handle heavier loads.
Our Fleet
Axis Warehouse is dedicated to bringing you next-level quality service. We operate our own fleet of trucks and work with an extended carrier network to offer full coverage throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
RAIL TO DOOR
Intermodal drayage is the crucial link between a warehouse and your customer. Our rail car transloading services create a seamless, last-mile solution to ensure freight gets where it needs to go on time and within budget. Shipments are taken from their origin by truck to our transloading facility. From there, the cargo is loaded onto a railcar and taken to a facility near its destination.
